The Institute won two IPA projects

The first call for applications was published in December 2009.
The Institute applied together with the Hungarian partner - Nemzeti Infrastructure Fejlesztő Zrt.
Joint projects are related to development of plans for the rehabilitation of roads in the municipalities situated in the border zone between two countries:

1. Rehabilitation Planning of Bácsalmás-Bajmok Cross-border Connecting Road

The projects purpose is development of a complete project and technical documentation for the road works on a 45 km long route on the territory of Backa Topola municipality; from the border with Hungary (border crossing Bajmok) - to the town of Backa Topola.

2. Rehabilitation Planning of Tiszasz-Djala Cross-border Connecting Road

The projects purpose is development of a complete project and technical documentation for the road works on a 47.8 km long route on the territory of Novi Knezevac and Coka municipalities; from the border with Hungary (border crossing Djala) - to the town of Novi Knezevac - Coka - border crossing Rabe.

The European Union recognized importance of these projects and their influence on the local population and development of included regions. The Lead Beneficiary from the Republic of Hungary was informed on 19th May, 2010. by representatives of IPA CBC Republic of Hungary - Republic of Serbia, that both projects were accepted.

The realization of both projects is planned from June 2010. - October 2011. (16 months).
This way, the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina receives a donation of 700,000 euros from the European Union, which will enable creation of project documentation for strengthening / rehabilitation / increased road maintenance of these two very important roads toward neighboring Hungary, with a total length of around 92.80 km.
By construction of these roads, current poor transport links will be improved, which will result in a more efficient access to jobs, goods and services and improved economic activities.
